Our exciting Space client in the LA area are looking for a Principal Communication Systems Engineer to work across cutting-edge Communication Systems for Satellites, Spacecraft, and Aerospace systems.. In this position, you will lead the development of space architecture concepts, sub-system design, payload design, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment.. Lead development of sub-system design, payload design, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, hardware system design, Link budget studies, gain line up, cascade analysis, array simulation studies, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk reduction.. Background and practical experience with FPGA & modern vector processing engines.. Experience with and understanding of satellite-communications standards (NR NTN, DVB-S2x, CCSDS).

Based out of Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Avionics Engineer II / Senior Avionics Engineer I - Mission Formulation is responsible for developing high-performance launch vehicle systems in support of the Launch Systems Business Development and Strategy team. The Avionics Engineer II / Senior Avionics Engineer I - Mission Formulation is an integral part of Rocket Lab's Global Launch Services (GLS) Mission Formulation Team which works closely with other Engineering teams and Production to bring new launch and mission concepts to life. Please note: this position can be hired at an Avionics Engineer II or Senior Avionics Engineer I level).. Our team of more than 600 people works across industries including aerospace, medical devices and life sciences, unmanned systems and robotics, automotive OEM and tier 1 suppliers, commercial vehicle, electric vehicles, rail, and more.. 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, including exposure to precision components and systems. Proficient in CAD/CAM software and familiar with advanced manufacturing technologies. Solid understanding of machining processes such as milling, turning, and grinding. Knowledge of materials, coatings, non-destructive testing (NDT), and external manufacturing processes

Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production goals and ensure the highest quality standards in aerospace manufacturing.. Utilize ERP systems, such as Epicor, to track production metrics and streamline operations, ensuring data-driven decision-making.. Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and metals manufacturing, particularly with steel and aluminum.. Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Epicor, and their application in manufacturing environments.. Proficient in CAD and MRP software for product development and project management.
