This role is pivotal in shaping the District's environmental future by advancing initiatives that support energy and water conservation, zero waste, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction, and green building certifications. Develops, assesses, and updates the District's sustainability policies and plans for the built environment strategy, GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions reduction plan, energy and water conservation plans, zero waste plan, and green building certifications. Leads and participates in planning groups related to Districtwide Waste Management, Water Conservation, Air Quality, Renewable Energy, Energy Conservation, Carbon Reduction, and Communications and Controls. Green Building (LEED) certification, Certified Energy Manager credential, International Facility Management Association Sustainability Facility Management certification or other related certifications. Expert understanding of sustainable practices and policies, including greenhouse gas emissions reduction, energy and water conservation, zero waste initiatives, and green building certifications.
