The Research Associate will work under the general supervision of the Small Farms Water Conservation Academic Coordinator in Fresno and Madera Counties. The Research Associate will also collaborate with the Small Farms team that is supervised by the Small Farms and Specialty Crops Advisor in Fresno and Madera Counties, along with the UC Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (UC SAREP). Travel to participating farms for data collection, soil and water sampling, and technical assistance. Assist the Small Farms Water Conservation Academic Coordinator in seeking out opportunities for new funding and developing new grant proposals. Master's degree in plant science, agricultural science, soil science, water resources, hydrology, agronomy, horticulture, agroecology, agricultural engineering, environmental science, or a related field and/or equivalent training/experience.
