Position description Position Overview The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) invites applications for a UC Cooperative Extension Environmental (UCCE) Horticulture and Controlled Environment Agriculture Advisor serving Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Mateo, and San Benito Counties at the Assistant rank.. Strategies could include modification of aerial and root environments, extension of growing seasons, and new technologies to support efficient cropping systems, water conservation, and integrated pest management throughout the production cycle.. Strategies that enhance habitat and pollinator populations, ecosystem diversity, abatement of air and water pollutants, carbon sequestration, erosion control, and other critical ecosystem services in urban landscapes Publication of research results and knowledge is expected to include various UC ANR series, technical sheets, and peer-reviewed journals.. In this highly collaborative role, the Advisor will work with UC ANR Program Teams, UCCE Specialists, and others in the UC ANR network, as well as external partners such as growers, grower-shippers, commodity boards, USDA agencies, local farm bureaus, and nonprofit organizations.. Reporting Relationship: The Advisor serves under the administrative guidance of the UC Cooperative Extension Area Director for Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties, with input from the UCCE County Director in San Mateo County.

Distinguishing Characteristics This is the advanced lead level in the Air Quality Specialist series.. This class is also distinguished from the Principal Air Quality Specialist in that the latter has more responsibilities for developing new programs and handling the most difficult, sensitive, novel, or critical projects.. The R egulatory Development Division works with all levels of the Air District, including staff, management, executives, and Board members in developing and modifying Air District rules to provide emissions reductions to improve air quality both regionally and at the neighborhood level and protect the climate.. Leads and coordinates with professional and technical staff to perform complex scientific research and engineering work for developing regulations to control air pollutants (including those contributing to climate change and contributing to localized air quality impacts in overburdened communities).. Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with major coursework in chemistry, computer science, electronics, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, meteorology, physical sciences, physics, or a closely related field.

The Director EHS and Sustainability role includes management and operation of the companys Environment, Health & Safety (including Environmental Compliance) and Sustainability operations.. Leads the annual ESG Report preparation including information and data gathering, content development and external assurance.. To co-ordinate and implement SB Energy - sustainable development programs like - CSR, Carbon Neutrality, Water Positive, Waste /landfill, Energy Efficiency, Sustainability reporting etc.. Bachelors degree or preferably a masters degree engineering, environmental science, industrial safety management or relevant field.. 10+ years of progressive EHS, Environmental Compliance and ESG management experience in multi-location renewable and/or energy construction, 5 years minimum leadership experience.
