This role will suit a proactive professional with strong project management skills, sound knowledge of environmental legislation and planning frameworks, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams. You will work with clients, consultants, regulators, local authorities and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, practical and compliant outcomes. Key responsibilities will include managing project scope, budgets, programmes, risks and resources; preparing and reviewing environmental assessments, planning reports and supporting technical documentation; coordinating inputs from ecology, heritage, transport, landscape, engineering and other specialist teams; and overseeing planning and environmental approval processes. You will identify potential project issues early, develop effective mitigation strategies and ensure that all deliverables meet relevant legislative, policy and professional standards. The role will also involve preparing proposals, contributing to business development, mentoring less experienced staff and maintaining clear, accurate project records and stakeholder communications. Applicants should have relevant qualifications in environmental planning, environmental management, urban and regional planning or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering environmental planning or assessment projects. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable planning and environmental regulations, impact assessment processes, consultation requirements and approval pathways is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities are required. Experience leading project teams, engaging with government agencies and preparing documentation for complex or sensitive developments will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will be organised, collaborative and solutions-focused, with a commitment to environmental responsibility, quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
