Job Overview:
Are you passionate about food, hospitality, and sharing the joy of cooking with others? Spicewalla is a chef-driven spice company based out of Asheville NC, known for fresh, small-batch spices and gifts, and an ever-changing treasure trove of pantry staples and snacks. We are excited to open a new retail location in Historic Georgetown. We will be joining our Chai Pani Restaurant Group sister restaurants: Chai Pani DC and upcoming Botiwalla Georgetown, in the neighborhood. We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, Assistant Store Manager to support our new team in DC. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in day to day operations, overall team support, inventory, merchandising and event execution.
Responsibilities:
Foster a work environment to uphold our company standards for mind-blasting customer experience, and a caring, loving community Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations and serve as a Manager on Duty when needed. Support staff training and onboarding by helping team members develop a strong understanding of store procedures, product knowledge and Spicewalla values. Support store inventory management including receiving deliveries, restocking and assisting with cycle counts. Assist General Manager with rotating retail displays centered around storytelling, themes, and product launches. Maintain a strong understanding of Spicewalla spices and recipe ideas, as well as other pantry items carried in store. Communicate customer feedback, operational issues, inventory needs, and other store updates to the General Store Manager. Assist in store event planning, prep and execution.
Qualifications:
Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, 4-5 days/week, averaging 32+ hours/week 1-2+ years of retail leadership or hospitality experience. Merchandising experience is a plus. Highly organized and able to multitask Excellent communication and customer service skills. Able to lift boxes (up to 50lb) and be on your feet for an entire shift. A genuine love of food, cooking, and people!
