Powder Coating Technician Client seeks a 2nd shift Powder Coating Technician to perform powder coating operations on manufactured components. You will apply powder coatings to parts produced through CNC machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing, ensuring high-quality surface finishes that meet customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of coating processes, and the ability to operate coating equipment safely and effectively. Fabricating custom precision metal parts for automated conveyance systems and robotics hardware. Hands-on, safety-first, highly collaborative, dynamic manufacturing shop floor. Group: Rapid prototype machine shop supporting conveyance and robotics projects leading into large-scale production runs.

Key Responsibilities:

Start day with team stretches and morning huddles for job/machine assignments.
Setup Machinists: Receive job traveler and setup sheets; read and edit G/M code; tram in vises, load fixtures, dial in tight tolerances (down to 0.01 mm) using bore gauges; prove out first article and hand off to operators.
Operators: Daily machine checks (coolant and oil levels), clock into jobs, load/unload raw stock and parts, deburr, and complete In-Process Inspection (IPI) sheets using calipers and micrometers.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of powder coating experience or equivalent technical training
Knowledge of powder coating processes and equipment
Ability to identify coating defects and quality issues
Proficiency with coating thickness measurement tools
Strong attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Basic computer skills for documentation

Nice to Haves:

Mill-Turn multi-tasking lathe/mill experience (specifically Mazak Integrex / 7-axis platforms).Trade school background or vocational machining certification (e.g., Skills Center).YOE:Operator level: Minimum 3+ years
Setup Machinist level: Minimum 5+ years
Disqualifies: Candidates without direct hands-on manufacturing/machine shop mill experience.
Performance Indicators: Turnaround speed and consistency to cycle time targets without deviating from blueprint tolerances.

Degree: None strictly required; Trade school / vocational machining certificate preferred.
