Job summary:
Responsible for driver payroll, monitoring, and evaluating driver performance. Assists Manager with expense controls of the fleet, i.e. costs for maintenance of the trucks, fuel costs, lease and rental expense. Responsibility includes achieving the goals of the department, satisfying the customer, and managing the Transportation department. Supervisor is responsible for DOT compliance including, but not limited to, Hours of Service (ELD’s), Road Testing, Random Drug/Alcohol Testing and Conduct Required Training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for daily operation including delivery procedures, invoicing, and driver check-in/check-out policies. Oversee routing and drivers scheduling. Conduct accidents / injury investigations. Ensures DOT regulation compliance. Driver Qualification (DQ) compliance Oversee vehicle service and maintenance with Penske. Ability to professionally communicate to train, coach and resolve matters with employees and customers. Coach and promote a culture of safe delivery and driving habits. Make sure trucks, docks, and warehouse office remain clean. Fill in to cover delivery when a driver is on off work/HOS issues/etc. Availability Monday through Friday with some Saturday involvement as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Must have a Class A CDL license 1+ years supervisory experience in a transportation capacity Previous experience within a warehouse environment Basic computer skills Knowledge of transportation management and DOT requirements. Knowledge of Samsara Prior experience with routing preferred. Proven ability to motivate, discipline, train, and develop drivers. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle crisis situations effectively. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 140 pounds with assistance
Working conditions: This position works in a combined office/route delivery setting.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job frequently requires standing, handling objects with hands, standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting over 50 lbs. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties. Perform in transportation delivery environments. Preferred Education or Experience Associate degree preferred but not required. Position type/ Expected Hours of work This is an exempt position.
