Job Description: Job Description Construction Materials Group in Greenville NC, is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for safely operating a road tractor (day cab) with a flatbed trailer capacity up to 46,000 pounds. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle mechanical and safety inspections
  • You will be expected, from time to time, to load and unload your own trailer using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
  • Safely place and secure various loose or palletized materials to safely transport on an open trailer.
  • Communicate clearly by telephone with dispatch, sales, and customers to accurately deliver loads.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions at places of business, highway construction sites, and commercial jobsites.
  • Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers.
  • Properly track and document activity log according to DOT and company regulations.
  • Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
  • Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, no nights, no weekends.
Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL Class-A license and DOT medical card required with at least 1-year recent driving experience.
  • Must be able to pass background checks in order to access military installations
  • Respectable MVRExtensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • Ability to handle physical workload, on/off of trucks, securing load
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)Strong work ethic and good communication and customer service skills
  • Employment subject to background and drug screening
