Mule Wiring TechnicianThe Mule Wiring Technician is responsible for leading the triage, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis of wire harnesses and electrical distribution systems on prototype vehicles. This role works closely with Build Support, Global Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues throughout the vehicle development process.Key Responsibilities:Read, interpret, and analyze vehicle wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.Lead the diagnosis and root-cause investigation of electrical wiring and harness-related issues.Troubleshoot and resolve wire harness, connector, and electrical distribution system concerns on prototype vehicles.Document findings and provide clear, concise written reports and technical summaries.Serve as the technical liaison between prototype build teams and Advanced Wiring Engineering teams.Participate in design reviews, build reviews, and cross-functional coordination meetings.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to implement corrective actions and drive issue resolution.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical systems, harness design, and vehicle Qualifications:Associates or Technical Degree in Automotive or Electronics OR Equivalent Work ExperienceFamiliarity with automotive dealership diagnostic and repair procedures.Experience with wire harness design, routing, packaging, and of OEM engineering change management processes, including change requests, change control, and approval workflows.Proficiency with standard computer applications and tools.Experience with CAD and electrical design platforms such as CATIA, Capital NX, SolidWorks, or Mentor Graphics CAP-H.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.Experience with Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) components and architecture.Teamcenter experience.CATIA Electrical Routing experience.Knowledge of Vector tools and CAN network diagnostics.Experience supporting prototype, pre-production, or vehicle development programs.Key Competencies:Electrical system diagnostics and troubleshootingRoot-cause analysisTechnical documentation and reportingCross-functional collaborationPrototype vehicle supportAttention to detail and quality focusProject coordination and communication skills
