American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with Trauma Level I/II experience and at least 2 years of recent MS/Tele nursing experience. Details Med/Surg Tele unit caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Patient population includes neurology, stroke, cardiac, wound care, respiratory, orthopedic, oncology, and surgical diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:4-5Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730 Every other weekend coverage required Call and floating required based on hospital census Uses Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems and SBAR communication Uses EPIC charting system Navy scrubs required
Requirements:
- Active CA RN license required in hand at time of considerationBLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required (hard stop)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level I and/or Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Peripheral line care and management experience
- Competent in oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
- Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge requiredIV therapy/phlebotomy skills required
- One professional reference required (within 2 years)
- Current Nursys report required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration
Additional Information:
- Provide direct patient care for a medically and surgically complex patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
- Float within the hospital based on census needsRTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additions after submission
- Previous permanent staff at the facility are not eligible for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
