Senior Textile Designer

About the Role: As a Senior Textile Designer, you will design, merchandise, and develop home textile collections across categories such as rugs, bedding, decorative pillows, and more. This hands-on role combines creative product design, merchandising, trend research, and technical development, from initial concepts and buyer requests through sampling and production.

What You'll Do: Design and develop original home textile products and collections across multiple categories. Develop seasonal collections, product assortments, and merchandising concepts. Create prints, patterns, graphics, CADs, and colorways. Translate market trends and buyer requests into commercially viable products. Research market trends, color forecasts, competitor assortments, and retail opportunities. Curate assortments across colors, patterns, materials, textures, sizes, and price points. Select fabrics, materials, constructions, and techniques based on design requirements. Explore printing, weaving, embroidery, quilting, and other textile applications. Develop product concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, and retail appeal. Prepare detailed tech packs, product specifications, and production-ready artwork. Create technical layouts, repeats, and color separations as needed. Collaborate with Product Development, Merchandising, Sales, and Production teams. Communicate design specifications and revisions to international vendors. Review and approve samples for color, quality, construction, and design accuracy. Prepare product presentations, collection boards, and assortments for buyer meetings. Manage multiple design projects, priorities, and deadlines.

What We're Looking For: 7+ years of work experience in Textile Design, Surface Design, Product Design, or related. Home textiles or home décor experience preferred, ideally in rugs, bedding, or decorative pillows; other relevant design backgrounds welcome. Strong creative and merchandising skills with an eye for color, pattern, materials, and commercial appeal. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, including CAD development. Experience preparing tech packs, technical specifications, and production-ready artwork. Knowledge of fabrics, constructions, printing, weaving, embroidery, and finishing techniques. Ability to translate buyer requests and design concepts into commercially viable products. Experience working with international vendors and reviewing development samples.
