Licensed Dental Hygienist

Provide preventive dental care, including cleanings, scaling, root planing, polishing, and preventive agent applications. Review and chart dental and periodontal health, educate patients on oral hygiene and nutrition, and collaborate with dentists and office staff to support patient care. Perform prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polishing, and apply fluoride and sealants. Review and update patients’ dental histories and periodontal health records. Record treatments and handle patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and nutrition related to oral health. Assist dentists as directed and administer local anesthetics when permitted by state law. Coordinate with dentists and office staff to support patient care and recall programs.
