SorterThe Sorter is responsible for safely and efficiently sorting recyclable and non-recyclable materials on a conveyor line at a waste processing facility. This role is critical to ensuring proper waste handling, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Sort and separate recyclable materials (plastic, paper, metal, etc.) from waste stream on a conveyor belt
  • Remove contaminants and ensure proper placement of materials into designated bins
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist with facility cleanup and basic maintenance tasks as needed
  • Report equipment issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions to supervisors
  • Work efficiently to meet daily production and sorting goals
Qualifications:
  • Clean background and drug screen
  • Previous experience in a labor, warehouse, or recycling environment is a plus
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Work Environment: Industrial setting with exposure to noise, dust, odors, and varying temperatures Continuous standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motionPPE required at all times (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
