Business Development Consultant (B2B Wholesale Insurance)BUI | St. Louis, MissouriBUI is looking for a business development professional who enjoys building relationships with financial advisors and helping them solve their clients’ insurance needs. This is an advisor facing, B2B sales role with an established insurance brokerage firm. You will develop your own territory, supported by experienced case design, underwriting, and advanced planning teams. Whether you’re an experienced external wholesaler, an internal wholesaler ready to build your own territory, or a life insurance agent who enjoys the business but wants a stable base salary and a market beyond your personal network, BUI offers the support to build lasting relationships with professional advisors.
What you’ll do: Prospect consistently and develop relationships with financial advisors, RIAs, insurance professionals, employee benefits advisors, CPAs, and other professional partners. Meet with advisors to understand their practices, identify opportunities, and show how BUI can support their clients. Grow a territory through outbound calls, meetings, presentations, referrals, and follow-up. Work with BUI’s case design, underwriting, and advanced planning teams to bring practical solutions to advisors. Manage ongoing advisor relationships and help turn initial opportunities into long-term partnerships. Track activity, opportunities, and follow-up in Salesforce.
What we're looking for:
  • A motivated, self-starter A proven ability to initiate conversations, prospect consistently, and develop B2B relationships.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services wholesaling, or a closely related advisor facing role.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to earn the trust of experienced professionals.
  • The organization and self-direction to manage a territory and follow through on opportunities.
  • A bachelor’s degree (or better)FINRA registration and/or a CFP designation is a plus.
