Job Title:
Administrative Assistant / Medical Administrative Assistant Healthcare Setting: On-site outpatient medical center laboratory Location: Boston, Massachusetts 02215 Start Date: October 26, 2026 End Date: January 16, 2027 Contract Duration: Approximately 12 weeks Schedule: 40 hours per week Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts Posted Hours: 8:45 AM-5:15 PM Weekly Estimated Pay: $830-$900 Work Environment: Patient-facing, non-mobile administrative role Medical Administrative Assistant Job Requirements At least 1 year of administrative, front-desk, customer service, medical receptionist, or healthcare support experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a courteous, service-focused approach Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy outpatient setting Comfort working with electronic medical records, scheduling platforms, registration systems, and other computer systems Ability to collect and accurately document patient information while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with providers, laboratory personnel, and clinical staff Administrative Assistant Responsibilities Welcome and assist patients, visitors, staff, and callers in a professional and helpful manner Serve as a primary point of contact for the outpatient laboratory unit and provide clear directions and information Gather complete and accurate information from patients and callers, prioritize requests, and facilitate communication with providers Perform patient check-in, registration, demographic verification, and check-out procedures Prepare schedules, medical records, forms, and other documents according to established quality standards Coordinate follow-up appointments and related diagnostic or laboratory testing Monitor patient flow and proactively address scheduling or service delays Act as a liaison between patients and practice staff to support an efficient, positive patient experience Provide patients with appropriate educational materials and next-step guidance Protect patient privacy during all phone, in-person, written, electronic, and document-related interactions Apply now for this Boston healthcare administrative opportunity and join an outpatient medical team in the Longwood Medical Area.
