Location: Leetsdale, PASHORT DESCRIPTIONHussey Copper is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead manufacturing operations at our Leetsdale, PA facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing leadership experience, preferably within the metals industry, with a proven ability to improve processes, develop teams, strengthen operational performance, and drive long-term business results.
POSITION SUMMARY: Hussey Copper is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Operations to lead and advance manufacturing operations at our Leetsdale, Pennsylvania facility. This is a highly visible executive leadership role for an experienced manufacturing leader who can successfully balance strategy, execution, people leadership, and operational discipline. The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for strengthening operational performance, developing high-performing teams, improving processes and systems, and creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, safety, and respect. The ideal candidate will bring significant leadership experience within the metals industry or a similarly complex manufacturing environment. Experience within copper, steel, aluminum, foundry, casting, rolling, fabrication, or other metals manufacturing environments is strongly preferred. We are seeking a leader who is equally comfortable developing long-term strategy and being present on the plant floor to understand operational challenges, support teams, and drive execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for manufacturing and plant operations. Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, financial goals, and growth plans. Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations while identifying opportunities to improve productivity, throughput, quality, cost, and overall plant performance. Establish, strengthen, and standardize operating procedures, processes, systems, and performance expectations. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Use operational data and performance metrics to identify opportunities and sustain measurable improvements. Establish key performance indicators and maintain accountability for operational results. Evaluate manufacturing processes, workflows, equipment, and organizational structure to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Build, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing operations leadership team. Strengthen frontline leadership capabilities and create clear expectations for performance, communication, and accountability. Foster a workplace culture grounded in respect, collaboration, integrity, and trust. Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Sales, and other business functions. Support capital planning, equipment investments, plant improvements, and long-term capacity planning. Identify operational risks and develop practical solutions that support both immediate business needs and long-term sustainability. Lead organizational and operational change while maintaining employee engagement and business continuity. Serve as a trusted member of the senior leadership team and provide clear, data-driven recommendations regarding operational performance and strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred. Significant progressive leadership experience within manufacturing operations. Senior-level responsibility for plant operations or multi-functional manufacturing operations strongly preferred. Demonstrated success leading complex manufacturing organizations and improving operational performance. Metals industry experience strongly preferred, including experience within copper, steel, aluminum, casting, foundry, rolling, fabrication, or related manufacturing environments. Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, maintenance, production systems, quality, and process improvement. Proven experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures, operational systems, and process improvements. Demonstrated ability to lead both strategically and tactically. Proven ability to translate business objectives into executable operational plans. Experience building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams. Strong understanding of operational KPIs, cost management, productivity, quality, capacity, and continuous improvement. Ability to lead effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment and build credibility with employees at all levels. Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and change-management skills. Demonstrated leadership style rooted in accountability, collaboration, integrity, and respect.
