Role Description: The Legal Counsel role is a part-time, remote position responsible for providing practical legal support to Perry Construction Management LLC. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing, drafting, and updating contracts and agreements related to construction projects and vendor relationships. The role involves identifying and analyzing legal issues, advising on risk management, compliance, and regulatory matters, and supporting contract negotiations with clients, partners, and suppliers. The Legal Counsel will prepare and maintain legal documentation, assist with policy development, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making and alignment with applicable laws and industry standards.
Qualifications: Strong foundation in Law with the ability to analyze and interpret statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to construction and commercial operations. Experience in Contract Negotiation, including reviewing terms, identifying risks, and advising on agreements with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, such as drafting contracts, amendments, policies, and correspondence in clear, precise language. Ability to identify and assess Legal Issues and provide practical Legal Advice that supports business objectives and risk mitigation. Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Previous experience in construction, real estate, or commercial contracts is highly beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. Comfort working independently in a remote, part-time capacity and collaborating effectively with project managers and leadership.
