Forgent Power is seeking an Inventory Lead with Industry Technical Expertise. The Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing daily inventory operations to ensure accurate inventory records, efficient material flow, and compliance with company inventory control procedures. This position leads inventory-related activities including cycle counting, inventory audits, receiving verification, inventory transactions, and team coordination. The Inventory Lead works closely with warehouse, purchasing, production, and logistics teams to maintain inventory accuracy and support operational goals. This is an hourly position. Typical working hours will be Monday – Friday from 7:00a to 3:30p. Additional working hours will be required dependent on the work load.
Specific Duties Include:
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/WMS system.
Monitor inventory levels and identify discrepancies, shortages, and overages.
Investigate and resolve inventory variances in a timely manner.
Ensure proper inventory transactions are completed accurately and promptly.
Coordinate inventory movements between locations and departments. Cycle Counting & Audits
Develop and execute cycle count schedules.
Lead and perform routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
Analyze count results and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
Prepare inventory reports and documentation for management review.
Assist with annual physical inventory activities. Team Direction
Provide daily direction and support to inventory specialists, cycle counters, and warehouse personnel.
Train team members on inventory procedures, systems, and best practices.
Foster a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years of inventory control, warehouse, or materials management experience.
1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Experience using ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems.
Strong understanding of inventory control principles and cycle counting practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to pass background and drug test prior to employment.
Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish daily tasks while managing through shifting priorities and ambiguity
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely when authorized.
