Healthcare Litigation Associate - California (Remote) Must Be Licensed in California A nationally recognized healthcare law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing California practice. This is a fully remote(able to work in office as desired) opportunity offering sophisticated litigation work, direct client interaction, meaningful responsibility, and long-term career development within one of the most complex and rapidly evolving sectors of the economy. The practice represents hospitals, health systems, physician groups, medical practices, post-acute care providers, clinical laboratories, pharmacies, and emerging healthcare companies in complex litigation, regulatory disputes, investigations, and other high-stakes matters. Prior healthcare litigation experience is not required. Attorneys with strong litigation backgrounds and an interest in healthcare law are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Handle litigation matters through all phases of the case lifecycle
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive filings
- Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written work product
- Take and defend depositions and participate in witness preparation
- Assist with hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with attorneys across litigation, regulatory, investigations, compliance, and transactional practices
- Manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership 2+ years of litigation experience
- Strong motion practice, discovery, deposition, and legal writing skills
- Excellent analytical, research, and oral advocacy abilities
- Ability to independently manage matters while working collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience with complex commercial litigation, healthcare litigation, regulatory litigation, investigations, employment litigation, insurance coverage, or other sophisticated litigation matters is a plus
- Interest in healthcare law, regulatory issues, and highly regulated industries strongly preferred
