This role offers a dynamic balance of clinical care, teaching, and human genetics research, with cutting edge research and the mentorship of future medical professionals. We are seeking candidates with ABMGG board certification or eligibility in the fields of clinical and/or biochemical genetics. Core Functions: Patient Care: Provide clinical evaluations and medical management in general genetics, metabolic disease, or specialty clinics. Teaching: Educate and train medical students, resident physicians, and clinical fellows. Research: Engage in clinical or laboratory-based human genetics research initiatives, with potential startup funding available for physician-scientists and publish scientific findings
Primary Physician Responsibilities:
Serve as a Geneticist for the Department of Human Genetics within the Division of Medical Genetics for inpatient and outpatient clinical services.
Expectation of meeting/exceeding established departmental clinical goals.
Call coverage responsibility for Emory Healthcare and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
Minimum Qualifications:
An M.D., MD/ Ph.D, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant biomedical science. Must be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) in clinical genetics and/or biochemical genetics and a strong record of research excellence and postdoctoral training experience.
