The Role:
The Production Planner optimizes production schedules to ensure on-time delivery, efficient resource use, and alignment with customer demand. You will bridge the gap between sales, procurement, and operations—translating demand signals into executable floor plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling: Develop master production schedules (MPS), prioritize runs to minimize changeover time, and adjust plans in real time for downtime or material shortages. Materials & Inventory: Partner with procurement to ensure raw material availability, monitor MRP outputs, and manage inventory levels. Collaboration: Participate in weekly S&OP meetings and communicate schedule updates or constraints to leadership and customer service. Metrics: Track schedule adherence, on-time delivery (OTD), and support lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste.
Qualifications
Experience:
3–5 years of production planning or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Systems: Required experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, SYSPRO, or similar) and high proficiency in Excel.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or equivalent experience.
Skills:
Strong analytical problem-solving, sharp attention to detail, and top-tier cross-functional communication skills.
Bonus: APICS CPIM certification is a strong asset.
