McKinley Pharmacy Pharmacy Services • Checking patients out at register including cash, credit card or student accounts. • Recording in computer system and handing out OTC medications per semester limits. • Return of stock prescriptions and prepacking wound packs and other packs for vending machine. • Handling intake of new prescriptions and refill requests. • Selecting medications from stock to fill labels. Labeling the product in accordance with departmental standards. • Assisting in the maintenance of a perpetual inventory including rotating stock to assure a minimum acceptable inventory and a maximum turnover of stock. • Knowledge of acceptable pharmacy procedures. May operate data entry; learn formulary, computer language, sig files and codes as needed. Clerical • Cleaning the area as needed. • Filing copies of appropriate paperwork. • Typing as • Participates in Quality Assurance activities as assigned. • Responsible and accountable to support and ensure a culture of safety, quality and risk management including compliance with ethics. • Assume appropriate related additional duties to further the mission of the pharmacy. Current certification of registration by the State of Illinois Department of Registration and Education as a Pharmacy Technician. McKinley Health Center aims to provide high-quality ambulatory healthcare and health education to students and medical expertise to University leadership. The Center is also accredited through the Accreditation Associate for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Our staff works on campus with an academically talented and diverse student population representing a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, including international students. The rate of pay for Extra Help - Pharmacy Tech I positions start at $20 hourly. The rate of pay is determined by the job description submitted by the department. We offer short or long-term assignments up to 900 hours, which is about 6-months of full-time work. Employees can work either full or partial days and full or partial weeks. Extra Help employees are appointed to fulfill casual or emergent needs within units. The amount of time for which services are needed is not usually predictable and payment for work performed is on an hourly basis and based on actual hours worked. Extra Help employees do not receive holiday pay or paid sick or vacation leave. Extra Help employees are required by State Universities Civil Service System rules to take a 30-calendar-day break after working 900 hours. At the end of the 30 days, you may begin another 900-hour employment cycle in a new position if available. Working Extra Help will in no way affect any other employment opportunities with the University of Illinois, including your position on and Civil Service register.
