Part Time Pharmacy Technician 1The UHealth System at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Pharmacy Technician 1. The Pharmacy Technician 1 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs. CORE JOB FUNCTIONSCollects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records. Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals. Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs. Refers providers' calls and medical questions to Pharmacist. Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties. Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
