Senior Design Engineer

Employment type: Full-time Aire Search is supporting aleading manufacturer of high-performance polypropylene venting systems and OEM componentswith the appointment of aSenior Design Engineer. This is an opportunity for an experienced mechanical design engineer to lead product development, validation and manufacturing support from concept through to production. The role will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Sales, customers and tooling suppliers to develop new products, assemblies and customer-specific components while improving existing product lines.

Key Responsibilities: Design products, assemblies and injection-moulded components using Creo, producing models, drawings, BOMs and technical documentation. Convert customer, code and performance requirements into practical, manufacturable designs. Support tooling, prototypes, first-article builds, testing, design verification, DFMEA and PFMEA activities. Troubleshoot design and production issues, analyse test results and implement improvements. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales and Operations.

What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Three to six years’ experience in product design and/or manufacturing engineering, ideally within plastics, HVAC, fabrication or industrial products. Strong 3D CAD capability, with Creo experience required, plus knowledge of injection-moulded part design. Experience with tooling suppliers, prototypes, first-article builds, testing and manufacturing documentation. Strong communication, organisation and project-prioritisation skills, with a hands-on and collaborative approach. Knowledge of UL-1738, ULC-S636, ANSI Z21 and NFPA 54 would be beneficial. The role combines desk-based engineering with time in manufacturing and warehouse environments, where appropriate safety footwear and eye protection are required. Why Join?
