This is a 12 month contract role (possibility of extension) with a leading financial institution. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite per week. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst to join on a temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with others, and finding smarter ways to work. As a member of our Finance team, you will help ensure the accurate and timely processing of company expenses while supporting initiatives that leverage automation, data analytics, and AI-powered tools to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
Responsibilities: Perform daily accounts payable responsibilities, including verifying and processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, securing department approvals, and ensuring timely payment processing. Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation. Code and enter invoices into the accounting system accurately and efficiently. Prepare and process payment batches for approval, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments. Verify payment amounts and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time. Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Monitor invoice activity and prepare recurring reporting and analysis. Reconcile vendor statements with accounts payable records to ensure completeness and accuracy. Maintain accounts payable records and assist with quarterly audit preparation. Organize and maintain vendor files and supporting documentation. Partner with the accounting team on month-end accruals, accounts payable reconciliations, and other accounting responsibilities as needed. Utilize AI-enabled and automation tools to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, identify exceptions, and enhance reporting processes. Contribute ideas for process improvements by leveraging technology, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities within finance operations.
What We’re Looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.1+ years of relevant work experience in a large financial institution
  • Proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, automation technologies, or data analytics platforms, with a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
