Quality Inspector Leidos is seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Inspector to support mission-critical IT and engineering programs in Reston, VA. In this role, you will inspect IT-related components, electronic assemblies, and systems to ensure they meet Leidos, customer, and regulatory quality standards. Responsibilities include performing visual, dimensional, and functional tests; interpreting technical drawings and specifications; accurately documenting inspection results and nonconformances; and collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve issues. You will support continuous improvement, maintain strict safety and ethical standards, and contribute to high-impact government and commercial projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed inspections of IT and electronic components, assemblies, and systems per Leidos and customer standardsUse measurement tools and test equipment to verify dimensions, functionality, and performance
  • Document inspection results, nonconformances, and rework using digital quality systems
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine inspection criteria
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve defects and prevent recurrence
  • Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor
  • Maintain inspection records, traceability, and compliance with defense and government quality requirements
  • Follow safety, security, and ethical guidelines while working on sensitive or classified programs
Required Skills:
  • Quality inspection
  • Use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Reading technical drawings and schematics
  • Electronic and IT hardware testing
  • Nonconformance reporting and documentation
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar standardsUse of quality management systems (QMS)
  • Root cause analysis and basic problem-solvingESD and electronics handling proceduresMS Office or digital inspection tools
