Railroad Maintenance Vehicle Operator

Railroad Maintenance Duties: Operate railroad equipment to align, space, and surface straight and curved tracks. Identify common defects on railroad such as broken rail, crushed head, broken base, defective tie, loose spikes, or uniform ballast for repair. Use proper storage requirements of materials, tools or equipment in accordance with instructions. Identify equipment safety discrepancies, such as malfunctioning equipment or damaged materials for corrective action. Remove spikes to drive maintenance vehicles. Perform routine maintenance on maintenance vehicles.
