Description:
Support multiple DoW Hypersonics-related program offices with the development and flight test of missile systems
Support the flight test analysis team in the telemetry and flight test instrumentation aspects of target design, integration, and test, to include requirements development, test support, and analysis and reporting
Technical focus areas include telemetry system design, flight test instrumentation, telemetry data acquisition and processing, and vehicle performance assessments
Assist in defining telemetry kit requirements and transmitter and antenna configurations for target test vehicles
Configure and operate telemetry ground station equipment during live test events, including receivers, decommutation systems, data recorders, and tracking antennas
Develop PCM decommutation configurations based on vehicle telemetry encoding and perform vehicle telemetry data decommutation
Support flight test analysis and reporting to include analyzing vehicle onboard instrumentation data, processing telemetry and GPS/trajectory data, developing trajectory reconstruction, and generating performance reports
Develop and maintain real-time telemetry viewers and post-test data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
Collaborate with a dynamic team of experts in multiple technical areas to develop analysis and engineering tools
Travel may be required to support live test events at test ranges
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., electrical, computer, or aerospace engineering) with 3+ years of relevant experience
Active DoD Secret security clearance, which requires US Citizenship
Foundational knowledge of telemetry system concepts, including PCM encoding, RF transmission, and data acquisition and decommutation
Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for data processing, analysis, and visualization
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
Desired Skills and Experience:
Familiarity with DoW flight test programs and processes
Hands-on experience supporting live test events or telemetry ground station operations
Familiarity with IRIG 106 telemetry standards and COTS telemetry equipment (e.g., Quasonix receivers, Net Acquire or DEWESoft decommutation, Chapter 10 recorders)
Experience processing GPS/trajectory data (e.g., Graf Nav)
Experience with C/C++, FPGA, PCB design, or embedded systems
Experience developing data display GUIs or web applications
Knowledge of principles of aerodynamics; equations of motion; coordinate systems; vehicle dynamics; guidance, navigation, and control; etc.
Experience in any of the following disciplines: Modeling and Simulation, Trajectory, Design/CAD, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, Optical Signatures
Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks
Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
