HIʻIPAKA LLC — WAIMEA VALLEY JOPPORTUNITY: SALES AND MARKETING DIRECTOR
Location: Waimea Valley, Oʻahu Annual Salary: $100,000–$120,000 Reports to: Executive Director FLSA Status: Exempt Hiʻipaka LLC seeks an experienced Sales and Marketing Director to increase visitation, grow revenue, and strengthen public understanding of Waimea Valley’s cultural, historical, and natural significance. This position leads an integrated sales and marketing division, connecting promotional campaigns with measurable admissions, retail purchases, tour and group bookings, and special event revenue. The Director oversees marketing, communications, special events, and visitor services, including admissions, the Visitor Center, shuttle services, and parking.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement coordinated sales and marketing plans that support revenue goals and Waimea Valley’s mission. Build partnerships with tour operators, hotels, travel agents, event planners, and other referral partners. Direct advertising, digital marketing, social media, public relations, and promotional materials. Oversee visitor operations and special events, ensuring promoted experiences are delivered successfully. Manage division budgets, supervise and develop staff, and use sales data, campaign results, and visitor feedback to improve performance. Ensure communications, sales practices, merchandise, and visitor experiences reflect Hawaiian values, cultural integrity, and hoʻokipa.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in sales, marketing, communications, retail, or visitor operations, including at least five years in management. Demonstrated success connecting marketing activities to sales and revenue outcomes. Experience managing staff, budgets, and multiple operational functions. Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and relationship-building skills. Commitment to Hawaiian cultural stewardship. Experience in visitor attractions, hospitality, or cultural organizations and knowledge of Hawaiian history and culture are preferred. Valid driver’s license and availability for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
