Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a Law and Motion Associate - Of Counsel for a fully remote position available in Reston, VA. This role involves handling motion work related to litigation matters, including demand letters, requests for records, and agency/administrative charges. The position is non-Principal track and available nationwide in any state where the firm maintains an office.
Duties:
Conduct legal research and draft briefs/motions, including dispositive and discovery motions. Draft trial motions and assist with preparing trial documents. Research and draft appellate briefs. Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery. Prepare mediation briefs. Collaborate with the firm's Professional Development team to deliver work product to clients. Perform other tasks as assigned by firm leadership.
Requirements:
Admission to the CA state bar and compliance with all ethical requirements. Good standing with the bar. Minimum of 4 years of experience in California employment litigation for Associate role consideration. At least 9+ years of relevant California experience for Of Counsel level consideration. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills and strong legal research and drafting abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
Certifications:
Admission to the California State Bar. Skills Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proficiency in legal research and drafting. Ability to manage large volumes of documents.
