Job Description Rimtec Corporation is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic "A" to join our union workforce at our PVCmanufacturing facility in Burlington, New Jersey. This role installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshootsindustrial electrical equipment, control circuits, and instrumentation that is currently in service or planned forinstallation. The position also assists other mechanics with daily work to support continuous plant operations. The successful candidate will help maintain safe, efficient, and quality-driven production while complyingwith the collective bargaining agreement, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Shift Information Third Shift:
11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (Electrical Maintenance Mechanic "A")Shift Differentials: $1.30/hour for second shift. $1.45/hour for third shift. Compensation Hourly Rate Range: $27.00 - $37.34 per hour, based on position and qualification level. Salaries Job Classification Hire Rate Qualified Rate 12 Month Rate 24 Month Rate Mechanic "A"Electrical$27.00/hr. $35.82/hr. $35.82/hr. $37.34/hr. Overtime Time and one-half for all hours worked over 40 per week. Double time for work exceeding 12 hours in a 24-hour period.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facilityequipment during overnight operations.• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, PIDs, and mechanical drawings.• Troubleshoot and repair motor control systems, including relays, contactors, and variablefrequency drives (VFDs).• Apply advanced knowledge of common electrical circuits to diagnose and resolve equipmentissues.• Install, wire, and test control panels and electrical components in accordance with NEC and localcodes.• Diagnose mechanical issues involving bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, andpneumatics.• Support basic automation tasks, including troubleshooting sensors, limit switches, and PLC I/O, and adjusting drive parameters.• Fabricate or repair parts as needed using shop equipment, including lathes, mills, and weldingequipment.• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize overnight production downtime.• Modify equipment and assist with new equipment installations.• Document repairs, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and communicate open issues to theday shift.• Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), safety, and OSHA procedures. Education/Background/Qualifications Required Qualifications• High school diploma or GED required. An associate degree in electrical or mechanicaltechnology, industrial maintenance, or mechatronics-or trade-school certification as anelectronics technician-is preferred.• Three or more years of experience as an electrical, mechanical, or maintenance technician in anindustrial or manufacturing environment.• Experience operating lathes and mills is preferred.• Experience troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs, along with 480-volt, three-phase systems.• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams and use them to diagnose motorcontrol circuits and basic automation components.• Working knowledge of relays, contactors, motor starters, and VFDs.• Basic understanding of automation and control systems; familiarity with PLCs is a plus.• Proficiency with multimeters, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night hours.• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Self-motivated, dependable, and safety-focused. Proficiency with electrical systems and machinery used on active manufacturing productionlines. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to diagnose electrical faults and component failures systematically. Basic math skills and the ability to complete documentation accurately. Welding, fabrication, and machining skills. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with plant team membersand contractors, explain technical issues clearly, and communicate effectively at all levels ofthe organization. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a union environment. Ability to follow strict safety protocols when installing, maintaining, and repairing systems. Prior shift and/or on-call maintenance experience preferred. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft 365.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Ability to climb ladders. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently. Ability to read production documentation, scales, and charts. Ability to record information legibly and accurately.
