Role Description:
The Vice President Finance is a full-time positon, responsible for leading all financial operations and strategy for Direct Customer Solutions. This position oversees financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support growth and ensure efficient use of resources. The role includes managing financial reporting cycles, overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The Vice President Finance will collaborate closely with executive leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives, support pricing and contract decisions, and evaluate investment and cost-optimization opportunities. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve leading the finance team, maintaining strong internal controls, monitoring key performance indicators, and providing clear, data-driven insights to guide decision-making. Classification Exempt Reports to CFO & Executive Vice President JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The Vice President of Finance is a senior leader of the finance and accounting function at DCS, a pharmaceutical third-party logistics (3PL) provider. This role oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the company, supports sales efforts, directs financial strategy, planning, and reporting, and protects the company from financial risk. Serving as a key financial advisor and business partner to the executive team, the Vice President of Finance drives profitability, scalability, and operational efficiency across our warehousing and distribution network.
Essential Functions:

Financial Strategy & Advisory: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and growth objectives. Serve as a financial advisor to the Executive Vice President and executive team, using financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate growth/sales opportunities, new facilities, and capital investments.. Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A: Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plan. Partner with department heads to build and monitor budgets that optimize resource allocation, and deliver variance analysis that explains performance against plan.. Accounting Operations: Oversee all aspects of accounting, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and the month-end and year-end close. Ensure financial transactions, policies, and procedures comply with GAAP.. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and KPI dashboards (e.g., revenue and margin by client, cost per order, labor productivity, space utilization). Present financial results and insights to executive leadership and ownership.. Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital: Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and working capital, including client billing, collections, and payables.. Pricing & Client Profitability: Build and maintain costing models by client, service line, and facility. Support pricing for new business proposals, RFPs, and contract renewals, and identify opportunities to improve margins.. Risk Management, Compliance & Audit: Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with tax laws and financial regulations. Oversee insurance coverage, lead the annual audit, manage relationships with auditors and advisors, and support finance-related aspects of client and regulatory audits.. Process & Systems Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and systems and lead improvements. Automate reporting and strengthen integration between ERP, billing, and warehouse management systems to support a scalable finance function.. Leadership: Assist in building and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, including hiring, performance management, and ongoing professional development. Participate in key decisions as a member of the leadership team.

Deep financial and accounting expertise, strategic and analytical thinking, risk management, leadership and communication skills, technological savvy, a strong operational and commercial mindset, and an understanding of the regulatory environment in which pharmaceutical 3PL providers operate. This position manages all employees of the Finance Department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment with regular presence in warehouse and distribution facilities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and financial and warehouse management systems. Physical Demands This is a combination of desk work and periodic walk-throughs of warehouse operations, which may include temperature-controlled and regulated areas. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. This position is hybrid remote with the requirement to be on-site at the Bells, TN facility a minimum of two days per week. Travel Travel is required to multiple locations as business needs demand up to 30% may be expected. Required skills and qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration Ten or more years of progressive financial management experience, including at least five years in a finance leadership role Proven experience leading accounting, FP&A, and financial reporting functions Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, cost accounting, and multi-state tax Demonstrated experience managing cash flow, working capital, and banking and lender relationships Pharmaceutical or life sciences 3PL experience, with an understanding of how FDA, DEA, DSCSA, and cGMP/GDP requirements affect cost and operations Knowledgeability of chargebacks and chargeback process management Experience in third-party logistics, supply chain, distribution, or another high-volume, operationally complex industry Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial leaders Advanced proficiency with D365, PowerBi and Microsoft Excel Preferred skills and qualifications Experience managing finance across multiple sites or legal entities Experience supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence and post-close integration Experience implementing ERP, billing, or business intelligence systems Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
