Senior Power BI Consultant — Finance Reporting & Self-Service Analytics📍 Chicago, IL | Hybrid | ContractI’m looking for a Senior Power BI Consultant who can do much more than build dashboards. This consultant will work directly with Finance and technical teams to understand the underlying data, define trusted reporting, build Power BI solutions, and—just as importantly—teach Finance users how to become more self-sufficient with their reporting. What I’m looking for: Strong hands-on Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service Advanced DAX, Power Query and SQLStrong data modeling / semantic modeling experience Ability to explore and validate data within a data lake Experience partnering with developers/data engineers on data preparation and technical issues Strong understanding of financial data and reporting Experience translating Finance needs into clear KPIs, metrics and reporting requirements Ability to reconcile and validate reporting back to source data Proven experience training nontechnical users and Power BI power users Experience creating documentation, user guides and supporting self-service analytics Microsoft Fabric / Lakehouse / OneLake experience is highly desirable This is a great opportunity for someone who can move comfortably between data, technology and the business. You should be able to talk SQL and data models with developers, then turn around and explain the solution clearly to a Finance user who isn't technical. This is NOT a heads-down dashboard developer role. The ability to consult, guide stakeholders and teach users is a major part of the assignment.📍 Must be local to Chicagoland🏢 Onsite in Chicago on select Tuesdays or Wednesdays, approximately every 2–3 weeks📅 Initial 3-month contract with strong potential to extend💰 $55–$72/hour W2USC/GC only | No C2CIf this sounds like you, send me your resume at.
