This role supports the development and maintenance of standard costs and provides financial analysis related to inventory, profitability, pricing, cost trends, and operational performance. The Cost Accountant partners with finance and operations teams to improve reporting, strengthen inventory controls, and support business decision-making.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum three years of accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with standard costing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and ERP systems.
Strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
Prior manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain product costing and cost accounting processes.
Ensure accuracy of inventory valuation and standard costs.
Develop and maintain standard cost structures.
Analyze manufacturing variances and communicate findings to management.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
Prepare KPI reporting and operational financial analysis.
Coordinate cycle count and physical inventory programs.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and costing issues.
Maintain the integrity of inventory and costing-related master data.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory management and cost control processes.
Assist with ERP enhancements, testing, and process improvements.
Partner with finance and operations leadership to identify and manage excess or obsolete inventory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
