We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on-site at a client facility in Akron, OH. This project is estimated to last approximately 6 months. This is hybrid position requiring 2 days onsite per week. This is a HYBRID position and fully remote candidates cannot be considered.

Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for augmentation of our our client's Global Facilities Engineering team, with primary activities around Capital Project (planning and execution), addressing requests for technical support from the plants, and other related initiatives. The general scope includes capital-project planning and scope development, preliminary engineering calculations, cost estimating, design management of external engineering services, construction support, and troubleshooting technical guidance. The role also provides electrical engineering expertise to our plants & non-manufacturing facilities, and supports corporate initiatives related to electrical safety, reliability, energy, and business continuity. The electrical engineer will work closely with our client's Process Engineering teams, utilizing standard tools & methods.
Key Responsibilities: The Senior Electrical Engineer is expected to provide support in the following areas: Project Planning and Scoping – project definition, definition of technical solutions, scope development, preliminary engineering, execution strategies, and development of design deliverables (design criteria).Cost Estimating and Scheduling – Develop or support conceptual and budget-level cost estimates, provide input regarding project schedules, estimate engineering & construction costs, and identify project cost/schedule risks. Project Design and Design Management – Perform electrical engineering as appropriate and manage/review engineering performed by outside design firms. Provide technical direction, interdisciplinary coordination, drawing/specification reviews, constructability input, and design-quality oversight. Provide value engineering assessments to optimize scopes & assess potential cost-out opportunities. Electrical Facilities Engineering – Support industrial medium and low-voltage power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, protective devices, grounding, raceways, cables, motors/drives, emergency/standby power, lighting, and associated facility electrical infrastructure. Support or review short-circuit, protective-device coordination, arc-flash, load-flow, and voltage-drop studies as required. Plant Technical Support – Provide responsive technical assistance for manufacturing plants and other facilities, including troubleshooting, equipment and system assessments, reliability issues, maintenance recommendations, electrical safety, and development of practical corrective actions. Project Execution – Support projects through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, and closeout. Assist with identification and mitigation of technical, cost, schedule, safety, reliability, and constructability risks. Standards and Technical Initiatives – Assist with application and development of facilities electrical standards and engineering best practices, including initiatives related to electrical reliability, safety, sustainability, energy efficiency, property-loss prevention, and business continuity. Coordinate all work with designated supervisor(s).Accepts other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited University is required, PE preferred but not required
  • Electrical facilities engineering experience, preferably in engineering consulting, industrial design/construction, manufacturing, and/or heavy industry
  • Strong industrial power-distribution experience
Ability to read, develop, and review single-line diagrams, construction drawings, wiring/control schematics, specifications, calculations, and other engineering documentation. Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes Strong communication skills (verbal & written) Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar engineering/design platforms is desirable Experience with project estimating, scheduling, design management, construction support, commissioning tasks, and troubleshooting
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Authorizes a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
  • Submits to a drug test post offer
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license
  • Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel
  • Willingness to commute to office location at least 3 days per week
  • Ability to collaborate with others in an on-site, team environment
  • Demonstrate reliable, consistent, and punctual work-site attendance
  • Ability to utilize the required technology such as computers, phones, and tablets to complete job duties
  • Must be an organized, self-starter who can independently manage time effectively
  • Have the ability to handle varying workloads and the variable stress-levels associated with said workload
  • Ability to meet the quality and productivity standards required by the company
