Ophthalmology Physician

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The ophthalmologist will join a busy private practice with a large patient base and strong referral network. A full patient panel will be available immediately. Overall duties of the role include, but are not limited to:- diagnose eye conditions- treat eye conditions- work with patients to prevent eye diseases and vision problems- perform eye exams- prescribe medications and corrective lenses- conduct eye surgeries Among other services, the office offers:- advanced technology lens implants- iStents- goniotomy- cataract surgery- in-office eyelid surgery- lesion removal- laser surgery The current ophthalmologists perform 600 to 800 surgeries per year and see a maximum of 40 patients per clinic day. The actual number of patients varies based upon types of appointments, patient needs, and physician preference. Ophthalmologists are highly supported with a team that includes:- technicians- scribes- nurses- surgery schedulers The practice has extensive resources and state-of-the-art equipment:- IOLMaster 700- Cirrus OCT- Humphrey Visual Field- Visulas Yag III Laser- Compulink EMR with AI ScribeThe new ophthalmologist will have the option to participate in hospital on-call for an annual stipend. Call activity primarily happens during daytime hours and, on average, there are 7 to 10 calls per month. It is rare to have call activity on weekends or in the evening. On-call is scheduled flexibility to ensure minimal impact to work/life balance.
