Emergency Management Coordinator The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) was recently reorganized under the Marin County Fire Department. Part of the reorganization was the creation of Emergency Management Coordinators focused on Emergency Operations, Mitigation and Recovery, Training and Education, and Public Outreach. The Emergency Management Coordinator supports the Marin County OEM and may report to the Director of Emergency Management or the Principal Coordinator / Chief Resilience Officer. The Emergency Management Coordinator should be able to focus on one of program areas of OEM: Emergency Operations, Mitigation and Recovery, Training and Education, and Public Outreach. The coordinator is eligible to assume the paid, on-call Duty Officer role on a rotational time period (24-hours a day, for approximately 1 week per month). The coordinator will research and analyze best practices for emergency response, maintain the readiness of the County's emergency operations center, support staff with the deployment and maintenance of incident response platforms, coordinate with local and government agencies, and lead programs in support of Marin County's Office of Emergency Management. The general duties and minimum requirements of this position are described in the class specification. There is currently one (1) full-time temporary (40 hours per week) position within the Marin County Fire Department. This is an on-site position, reporting to the Office of Emergency Management located at 1600 Los Gamos, San Rafael.
