Job Description: Join the ACES Team (Automation and Controls Expert Services) as a Senior Controls Technician and bring your BAS expertise to complex commercial projects across the U.S. In this role, you’ll support Trane commercial and independent sales offices with building automation system programming, checkout, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation, while serving as a senior technical resource across multiple offices and job sites. As part of the Centralized Services ACES Team, you’ll collaborate with Project Managers, Controls Project Specialists, and Field Technicians to deliver high-quality system performance and support hardware and software design validation activities. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to the testing and validation of new, existing, and legacy products and systems.Please note that this role requires 75%+ travel. Travel is primarily within the U.S., with occasional international travel possible.*This role can be based anywhere in the Continental United States. • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining installation and programming standards.
• Acquire and maintain expertise in Trane Controls products and offerings, as well as applicablethird-party devices.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Trane controls.
• Ability to provide support and remote connected support for field installations.
• Responsible for advising, and guiding Field Technicians, Engineers, and sub-contractors.
• Ensures customer satisfaction by collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolveissues as they arise. What you will bring:
• 5+ years of experience in the HVAC industry performing as a Controls Technician or Controls Project Specialist roles preferred.
• Proficiency in the operation and design of HVAC systems, building automation systems, and/orTemperature Controls required.
• Previous experience in programming, commissioning, and startup of Trane control systemspreferred. Familiarity with Automated Logic, Distech, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, orTridium/Niagara-based control systems is a plus.
• A 2+ year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Building Automation Systems, or a related field is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations
• Ability to travel 75% plus.Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure:· Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt· Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safelyperform job duties· Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction· Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands· Must be able to reach your hands over your head· Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours· This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders.
