Summary: Ensuresstudentsandotherofficialpassengersaretransportedsafelyandefficientlytoandfromschoolandotherschoolrelatedevents(fieldtrips, athleticevents, etc.).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Transportspassengers(students, teachers, parents, etc.)toandfromschoolandotherdistrictsanctioned events. Ensuresthatstudentsaredeliveredtoproperdrop-offpoints. Determinesthatstudentsaremetbydesignated parentorguardianifrequired. Demonstratesandexplainsemergencyevacuationprocedurestopassengersinaccordancewith Transportation Safety Training Maintainsdailymileageandroutelogsasrequired. Updatesroutemapsanddirectionsasneeded. Transportsstudents, etc.accordingtoofficialroutedirections. Obeysalltrafficlawsandobservesallmandatorysafetyregulationsforschoolbuses. Performsasubstitutebusdriverasneeded. Conductsadailypre-tripsafetyinspectionofthevehicle. Outsideinspectiontoincludetires, wheels, fluid leaks/levels, windshield, mirrors, warningsystem, exhaustsystemandemergencyexits. Insideinspectionto includecleanliness, instrumentsandcontrols, gauges, warninglightsemergencyequipment, etc. Cleansand sweepsbusinterior. Fuelsbus. Reportsalldefectsornon-operationalfindings. Communicateswithteachers, principal, monitorsandotherofficialsasneeded. Maintainsorderanddisciplineofstudentsandotherpassengersonbusperprescribedpolicies, prepares conductreportsasneeded. Operateswheelchairlift, andloadsandunloadsandsafelysecurespassengersconfinedtowheelchairs, when applicable. Monitorstheactivitiesof Transportation(Bus)Monitorsastheyrelatetotheiractionswithstudentsandthe public.
