Lawyers on Demand (LOD), a Consilio company, is assisting a fast-growing law firm in seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its team on a long-term remote engagement. Candidates MUST be licensed to practice in Arizona, Texas, and/or Nevada.
Role Details: Start: ASAP
Duration: At least 6 months, with potential for extension
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Fully remote
Compensation: Starting at $75/hour
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the civil litigation lifecycle for insurance defense matters
- Take and defend depositions
- Draft, propound, and respond to written discovery
- Draft and argue dispositive and other substantive motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions in limine
- Assist with case file review, litigation strategy, and overall case management
- Support attorneys with trial preparation and, for candidates with relevant experience or interest, potentially participate in trials
- Prepare accurate and compliant billing narratives consistent with insurance carrier requirements
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams to develop effective defense strategies and advance matters toward resolution
- Candidate Qualifications 2+ years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for experience in insurance defense litigation
- Experience handling matters involving insurance coverage and/or tort claims, including:
- Slip-and-fall matters
- Premises liability
- Other general liability claims
- Experience managing litigation from discovery through dispositive motion practice and trial preparation
- Trial experience is not required, though candidates with trial experience or an interest in gaining courtroom experience may have opportunities to participate in trials
- Demonstrated understanding of insurance defense billing practices, including the ability to prepare clear and acceptable billing narratives
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case management skills
