This position is 100% remote. Subject Matter Experts provide valuable real-world knowledge and experience to the design and development of the degree programs and courses we offer our students. This is a part-time/project-based position in which you would work with WGU as an Independent Contractor. Must reside in the United States. Subject Matter Experts should meet the following criteria: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. institution (required) AND a Master's or PhD in one of the following (or related) disciplines: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Cyber-Physical Systems, Artificial Intelligence Hardware, or Systems Engineering. Quantum HARDWARE, electronics knowledge, and VLSI computing is required.3-5 years of industry experience in computer engineering, embedded systems, hardware-software integration, firmware development, semiconductor design, robotics, or related technical fields (highly preferred).3-5 years of academic experience teaching undergraduate-level computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or closely related disciplines (strongly preferred).Strong experience with the following areas: AI Hardware (such as servers, processing, memory, etc) and Edge Computing.
Certifications:
preferred, not requiredIEEE membership. Professional Engineer (PE).Fundamentals of Engineering (FE), or relevant industry certifications such as ARM, FPGA, Embedded Systems, AI Hardware, NVIDIA Jetson, or related credentials. Project Information Dates: ASAP to 10/31 (Subject to slight change)
Location: Remote Time commitment: Approximately 10 hours.
Compensation:
$750.00 Other compensation and benefits: This position is for an independent contractor and is not eligible for other compensation or benefits. Scope of work: Help define program level vision, architecture, competencies, and assessment strategy, and other related tasks to develop a proposal to design an academic degree. Meetings/Workshops: 3-4 90 min synchronous workshops per week during the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm mountain time.
