Key Responsibilities: Serve as the US Army Garrison, Hawaii (USAG-HI)/US Army Hawaii (USARHAW) Conservation Branch Chief, Environmental Division, Directorate of Public Works (DPW). Requirements & Education Basic Requirement for Historian (0170): 1. Degree: history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history. OR 2. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as planning and administering an Environmental Conservation program, including licensing and permitting requirements; performing coordination/liaison with State, Federal agencies to resolve environmental compliance requirements; present executive level briefings on environmental protection, restoration or conservation impacts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.
