This role coordinates with carriers, customers, and our internal teams to maintain reliable freight movement, protect service commitments, and respond quickly when operational issues arise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for weekend and after-hours operational coverage.
- Coordinate with carriers, customers, and our internal teams regarding scheduling, load status, and service needs.
- Book loads, cover bounced loads, and secure replacement capacity when scheduled coverage falls through.
- Monitor active freight, communicate timely updates, and take ownership of issues through resolution.
- Vet drivers by applying a working knowledge of applicable transportation compliance requirements and verifying eligibility before assigning or covering loads.
- Escalate issues promptly when a resolution is not foreseeable, providing clear context and relevant details to support next steps.
- Maintain accurate operational records and document key communications, decisions, and exceptions.
- Work independently during remote shifts while remaining responsive, dependable, and accountable for assigned coverage.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, or related industry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage carrier and customer relationships in a fast-paced operating environment.
- Working knowledge of driver-vetting practices and transportation compliance requirements.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to recognize when escalation is necessary.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Must be trustworthy and capable of working independently, particularly from home without direct supervision.
SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONSThis is a full-time position scheduled from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The employee works in office on Fridays and Mondays, and remotely on Saturdays and Sundays. Consistent availability and dependable coverage throughout all scheduled hours are essential.
