Low Voltage Technician/ CCTV Installer

Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include: Install structured network cabling in residential and commercial properties Install Cat 6, Cat 6A, Cat 7, and Cat 8 network cabling as required by the project Install Ethernet/network drops and wired data connections Professionally fish cable through walls, attics, ceilings, soffits, eaves, crawl spaces, and other concealed pathways Route and secure cabling with minimal exposed wiring whenever practical Install low-voltage brackets, Ethernet wall plates, faceplates, and keystone jacks Terminate RJ45 connectors and Ethernet keystone jacks Terminate network cabling into patch panels Follow T568A/T568B wiring standards, with T568B commonly used on Net Optima projects Label network drops, cable runs, wall ports, and patch-panel ports Test and troubleshoot installed network cabling Verify continuity, wiremap, connectivity, and cable performance Mount and aim PoE CCTV cameras, including bullet, turret, dome, and similar camera types Install weatherproof junction boxes, glands, mounting hardware, and related components Drill clean cable-entry and mounting penetrations Professionally seal and weatherproof exterior penetrations Protect exterior Ethernet connections from moisture and exposure Install and organize wall-mounted network racks Install patch panels and cable-management hardware Install switches, routers, gateways, NVRs, UPS units, and related networking equipment Perform professional rack cable management Organize and label patch cables and network equipment Troubleshoot PoE connectivity and device-link issues Verify cameras and network devices are online and operating properly Assist with NVR setup and configuration Configure camera naming, recording settings, time/NTP, remote viewing, and mobile access when required Assist with Uni Fi switches, gateways, access points, VLANs, and other managed network equipment when applicable Follow written work orders, installation standards, and detailed deployment plans Assist with final system testing, commissioning, documentation, and customer walkthroughs Maintain a clean and professional job site throughout the installation

Minimum Requirements: 2+ years of hands-on experience in low-voltage installation, structured cabling, CCTV, network infrastructure, or a related field Strong experience fishing, routing, concealing, and securing cable Experience working in walls, attics, ceilings, soffits, eaves, and other concealed spaces Experience installing residential and/or commercial Ethernet network drops Experience terminating Cat 6 or similar structured cabling Experience installing and terminating keystone jacks, RJ45 connectors, Ethernet wall ports, and patch panels Working knowledge of T568A/T568B wiring standards Ability to use cable testers and troubleshooting equipment Ability to determine clean and efficient cable pathways Experience drilling through common residential and commercial building materials Ability to work independently and follow detailed project plans Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail Professional communication and customer-service skills Reliable transportation Valid driver's license Comfortable working on ladders, in attics, and in other physically demanding environments Ability to lift and carry ladders, cable boxes, tools, racks, and network equipment Tools Having your own professional low-voltage installation tools is strongly preferred. Schedule This position is currently: Per-diem Project-based Scheduled according to active Net Optima installation projects Projects may range from individual installation days to multi-day deployments. Technicians who demonstrate strong workmanship, reliability, professionalism, and technical ability may receive consistent weekly work as additional projects become available. There may also be opportunities for expanded responsibilities and longer-term employment as Net Optima grows.
