Schedule: 4-5 days per week | Approximately 35-40 hours per week

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian to join a collaborative small-animal veterinary team in Staten Island, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys general practice and is comfortable evaluating urgent-care cases and managing hospitalized patients when needed.

Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnose medical conditions in dogs and cats. Provide preventive and wellness care for patients ranging from puppies and kittens to senior pets. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions. Perform and manage routine soft-tissue surgical procedures. Provide dental care and other appropriate veterinary procedures. Evaluate and treat urgent-care cases as needed. Monitor and manage hospitalized patients and provide appropriate follow-up care. Conduct and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging. Utilize diagnostic tools including digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory equipment. Communicate diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and follow-up plans clearly with pet owners. Mentor less-experienced veterinarians when appropriate.

Qualifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution. Active New York veterinary license or eligibility for licensure in New York. Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience preferred. Strong foundation in small-animal general practice. Experience with or confidence in routine veterinary procedures and surgery. Ability to evaluate urgent-care cases and manage hospitalized patients. Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, diagnostics, pharmacology, and patient care. New graduates may be considered, although experienced small-animal veterinarians are preferred.
