Reconstruction Superintendent – FLSA: Exempt Chicago, IL
Salary Range: 55k-75k/yr.
OVERVIEW: The position of Superintendent is primarily accountable for assisting the Project Manager in managing and completing reconstruction projects. Superintendents will traditionally have several subcontractors working on an allotment of projects as they are capable of handling. This is an AT WILL positionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Verify estimate accuracy and create budgetsReview and provide job costing, estimates and budgets for projectsCreate and maintain job scheduleMeet project schedules and goalsUpdate project files dailyDirect Customer with material selectionsCoordinate, observe and manage trades so they perform their work in a quality manner consistent with the applicable plans, specifications, industry standards and contract requirementsSet up job site and materials and see that all notices, safety rules and regulations are in placeEnsure that safety regulations are followed by the company and the subcontractorsAlways maintain a high standard of quality controlREQUIRED:High school diploma or equivalentFive or more years of experience in construction, carpentry, dry wall, carpeting, painting and project managementSupervisory skillsLICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Valid State driver’s licensePHYSICAL DEMANDS:When working on a job site employees may be working employees will be working around cleaning supplies, deodorization, and other products with chemical baseRequired to climb ladders and work in high placesAbility to stand, walk, squat, climb, crouch, crawl, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull equipment and retrieve items and exert a moderate amount of physical effort to perform such dutiesVision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phoneEmployees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 75 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs., to perform the functions of the jobMust be capable of working fire, smoke and/or water damage environments that have potential for mold or mildewWhen working onsite at the main office the employee must possess ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, include a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various customers and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phoneTasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipmentMust have ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file informationWORKING CONDITIONS:Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substancesEmployees also work outdoors with varying temperaturesWorkers may be subject to uncomfortable working conditions including exposure to extreme heat or cold, dust, noise, unusual heights, confined spaces, electrical currents and construction hazardsDue to the nature of the work, often the job sites will be dirty, possibly cold or wet and sometimes unsanitaryEqual Opportunity Employer/Americans with Disabilities Act Compliant/Drug Free Workplacereq23-00457
