Key responsibilities:
Underwrite mortgage insurance application files to assess acceptable risk based on published guidelines
Analyze loan characteristics and risk factors to make sound underwriting decisions
Document underwriting decisions and communicate effectively with lenders and team members regarding loan level decisions
Required qualifications:
High School diploma/GED; bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
Three (3) years of underwriting experience in the mortgage banking industry required
Specific mortgage insurance industry experience and knowledge of premium coverage requirements desirable
Expertise in Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac underwriting guidelines and DU/LPA automated underwriting systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and imaging/workflow systems
