Low Voltage Technician

Responsibilities: Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling, including Cat 5e/Cat 6/Cat 6A, coaxial, and fiber-optic cable. Install and service security systems, access control, CCTV/video surveillance, and alarm systems. Install structured cabling, network equipment, patch panels, racks, and cable management systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and technical documentation. Perform system testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Use hand tools, power tools, cable testers, tone generators, certification testers, and other specialized equipment.

Qualifications: Previous experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, telecommunications, security, or networking is a plus Basic understanding of electrical and networking principles. Ability to read wiring diagrams and construction drawings is a plus. Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and elevated areas. Ability to lift equipment and cable and perform physical work for extended periods. Relevant certifications such as BICSI, manufacturer certifications, or state/local low-voltage credentials are a plus.
