Unit Name: Med Tele Building: ACost Center: 620 General Information Unit Specifics: Number of Beds : 25 Patient Ratios : 4-5:1Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 25 bed Med Tele unit that takes primarily renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology and general med surg patients. We are highly focused on safety and quality and have high expectations for documentation compliance and processes related to central lines/foleys/cdiff and other HAIs. We pride ourselves on our team work and support from our charge nurses. Techs staff the unit as well. Type of equipment : EKG, bladder scanner, sit to stand, hoyer lift, hover mat, Alaris pumps, Pyxis Documentation system: Meditech- EBCDScheduling requirements: At least every 3rd weekend, 3 shifts per week. Floating policy: Can float to like units (Ortho/Neuro/CCU/CDU/SSU/Obs/Rehab) Patient Experience requirements: We are focused on our 2X2s 1) Nurse Explain and 2) Nurse Courtesy and Respect. We conduct Nurse Leader Rounds on every patient, every day, including a pre-round where we ask the nurse what the patients preferred name is, a personal connection and how we can validate the 2X2s. We also conduct a post round where we coach on anything that is not within our expectations and recognize anything that our patients said about their care. We are monitoring white boards, tidiness of room, safety and quality measures. Hospital Specifics- • Certifications: CP Center, Primary Stroke Center, Colorectal COE, Bariatric COE, Ortho Certified Hiring profile Requested Skill Set:
Must have:
  • ACLS, BLS, Basic Dys, a good attitude and a team oriented mind.
  • Advanced skills needed:
  • Procedures performed on unit: basic MS procedures
Certifications Required: see above Dress Code: (Required uniform) Royal blue scrub tops, royal blue or black pants Grey, white, black or royal blue undershirt Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.
